Bergans Hemsedal Challenge
On september 6st, for the fifth time, there will be a multisport competition in Hemsedal - Norway. The competitors will be mountainbiking, running, paddling, climbing, rapelling and use strategy.
Bergans Hemsedal Challenge is a team competition with two persons in each team. The teams may consist of two men, two woman or they may be mixed. During a period of six hours the teams will gather as many points as possible from 60 diffrent checkpoints. You choose your checkpoints from a map, on which all checkpoints are marked and described. The degree of difficulty on each checkpoint indicates how many points you will be getting, and the teams themselfs decide which route they take.
To participate you need a mountainbike, jogging shoes, and you must be 18 years of age or older. Some checkpoints are reached by canoe or by rapelling and climbing. These checkpoints will be manned and provide all necessary equipment.

Every checkpoint has the classical orienteering marker that you stamp on your stamp sheet. It is important that the number of the checkpoint matches the number on the sheet and that the mark is well visible. If not, the marker will be rejected. |
